FALCONS SHOW HEART & SPIRIT
All-School Cheer
The All-School Cheer team had an incredible week! They made their debut at the varsity games during Silent Night, and their performance was absolutely amazing!

Don’t miss the chance to see these talented athletes in action again. They’ll be cheering at the middle school games on Thursday, December 19. Come out and support them as they continue to bring energy and excitement to our school events!

Middle School & Varsity Swimming
The Middle School and Varsity swim teams have wrapped up their meets for the year but will continue practicing over the holiday break. To keep the momentum going, the teams are holding a fun competition to see which group can achieve the best attendance at practices during the break (schedule was sent out by coaches via email to athletes and parents).

This friendly rivalry was a big success over Thanksgiving weekend, with cupcakes as the reward for the varsity team that won. This time, the stakes are even higher: the victorious team will enjoy a pizza party, a pool party, and a movie on the big screen! Let’s see who will take home the prize—and the bragging rights—this holiday season.

Middle School Girls Basketball:
O’Neal vs Fayetteville Christian School FINAL: 19-22, L
The Falcons hosted Fayetteville Christian on Tuesday in a game filled with determination and excitement. Down by 12 points heading into the fourth quarter, the Falcons staged an incredible defensive effort, holding Fayetteville Christian scoreless for the entire period. Key to the comeback was Jordan Caretti, who delivered a stellar performance by shutting down Fayetteville Christian's leading scorer with relentless face-guarding in the second half. Offensively, the Falcons ignited a spirited 9-0 run fueled by Joelle Cole's drives to the hoop, Grace Chabalko's clutch three-pointer, and key free throws from both Julie Wilson and Keelie Bosworth. Despite their valiant efforts, the team fell just short, with a final score of 19-22. The game was a testament to the Falcons' resilience and refusal to give up, showcasing their heart and fight until the very end.

Varsity Girls Basketball:
O’Neal vs Trinity Christian FINAL: 29-47, L
The Lady Falcons traveled to Fayetteville on Friday, December 13, to take on Trinity Christian. Despite playing with determination, the Lady Falcons fell short. Leading the Falcons was Judah Sibley, who scored 12 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, and added 1 steal. Contributing to the effort was Kennedi Hamner with 7 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block.

The Lady Falcons will head into the winter break with a successful first half of the season, holding an overall record of 5-4 and standing in second place in the conference with a 3-1 record. The team will return to action at home on January 3, facing Freedom Christian Academy at 5:00 PM.

Varsity Boys Basketball:

O’Neal vs. Trinity Christian School FINAL: 26-79, L
The Falcons hit the road to face a strong Trinity Christian School team in Fayetteville. They came out with great energy and were ready to compete against a solid opponent. In the first half, the Falcons played good defense but struggled to get their early shots to fall.

Despite having a young team, the Falcons continued to play strong and with determination. As the second half began, the Falcons started hitting key shots and executed a well-run team offense. The team chemistry noticeably improved after halftime, sparking a late-game charge. However, it wasn’t enough to overcome Trinity Christian, but the Falcons kept their heads up. With a growing understanding of how to play great team basketball, the future looks bright.

Junior Harrison Buchan led the Falcons in scoring with 12 points, while Jack Manning contributed 3 points. Also chipping in were Mike Lewis (3 points), Max Pashley (2 points), Grant Sowell (2 points), and Jacob Lindsey (2 points).

The Falcons will return to action at home after the winter break, hosting Freedom Christian on January 3rd at 6:30 PM.
