Sports Performance Room

Located in the Hannah Marie Bradshaw Activities Center, the sports performance room is where O’Neal’s student-athletes receive the highest levels of sports performance training and development. From pre-season workouts to dedicated training time during the sports seasons, a certified performance coach contracted with Sandhills Sports Performance provides sports performance training for 45-minute sessions, two to three times a week. O’Neal’s year-round swim club, The O’Neal Pelagics, also uses the service. Since having incorporated sports performance training in 2018, injuries among student-athletes have been substantially reduced and student-athlete successes have increased.

Turf Training Center

O’Neal’s functional sports performance training spaces expand beyond the gyms, fields and sports performance room. O’Neal’s brand new sports performance turf training center is a multipurpose facility and is primarily used for varsity, junior varsity, and middle school sports teams to train on. This space is also used by O’Neal’s physical education programs. 90x13 feet of indoor turf allows for movement drills, plyometric work, flexibility sessions, sprints and speed, and agility training. O’Neal’s sports performance staff is committed to enhancing the overall experience of its student-athletes. The program design is based on a student-athlete, sport-appropriate model. Practical and purposeful training ensures each student-athlete will not only achieve long-term gains in athleticism for competitive success, but it also does so in an environment that cultivates enthusiasm, discipline, leadership, and teamwork.
