Middle School Girls Basketball:
O’Neal vs Fayetteville Academy FINAL: 23-8, W
The O'Neal Middle School girls basketball team hit the road to face Fayetteville Academy Eagles. The first half was a defensive battle, with the teams locked in a 6-6 tie at halftime. In the second half, Haddie Habets delivered key baskets, while Joelle Cole’s steals turned into fast-break points, helping the team pull away for a decisive 23-8 victory. The team's relentless effort was evident throughout the game, with players diving for loose balls and scrapping for jump balls. Their determination and teamwork continue to shine as they battle hard in every game.
Varsity Girls Basketball:
O’Neal vs Father Capodanno FINAL: 39-6, W
The Lady Falcons faced off against Father Capodanno on Tuesday, December 10, at home. From the opening tip to the final buzzer, the Falcons controlled every quarter, showcasing their consistent dominance. It’s no surprise that the Falcons triumphed over the Grunts with an impressive 39-6 final score.
This victory marks the fourth time this season that the Lady Falcons have won by 23 points or more, further cementing their reputation as a powerhouse team. Judah Sibley led the charge with a stellar performance, recording 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 steals.
O’Neal vs Fayetteville Christian School FINAL: 41-15, W
The very next day, the Lady Falcons returned to their home court to take on Fayetteville Christian Warriors in the Annual Silent Night game. Once again, they delivered a commanding performance, dominating both offensively and defensively for a decisive 41-15 win. Leading the way was Kennedi Hamner with a double-double 13 points/10 rebounds, followed by GiGi Gabrielle with 10 points.
The Lady Falcons now look ahead to their Friday, December 13 matchup at Trinity Christian in Fayetteville. A win would provide a strong finish heading into the Christmas break.
Middle School Boys Basketball A:
O’Neal vs. Fayetteville Academy FINAL: 42-12, W
The Falcons traveled to Fayetteville on Monday and picked up a conference win against Fayetteville Academy. The Falcons got off to a hot start, jumping out to a 9-2 lead in the first quarter thanks to a combination of strong defense and good finishes at the basket. The Falcons played tough on both ends of the court, forcing turnovers and keeping Fayetteville Academy from getting into a rhythm. The Falcons got contributions from all 12 players who suited up. They showed a total team effort and really coming together as a team. The Falcons will take this momentum into their next game which is next Thursday at home vs Freedom Christian.
Varsity Boys Basketball:
O’Neal vs Westchester Country Day School FINAL: 21-66, L
The Falcons were back at home to take on the Westchester Country Day Wildcats Friday night. The Falcons started slowly, allowing the Wildcats to hit early shots and get heated quickly. The Falcons tried their hardest to fight back in the first half but saw themselves down. After making adjustments in the second half, the Falcons attempted to limit the scoring of the Wildcats but ultimately fell short of victory. Senior Max Pashley led the Falcons in scoring with 8 points, while Jacob Lindsey and Harrison Buchan added 7 and 3 points respectively.
O’Neal vs Father Capodanno FINAL: 57-21, W
On Tuesday night, the Falcons put another big win in the books. The Falcons came out strong and ready to play basketball. The Falcons found their flow early hitting big shots and played well in the paint. The Falcons played great team basketball and the chemistry they displayed seemed to be at its peak. The Falcons played great on the defensive side of the ball and this translated to scoring easy baskets on the offense. The Falcons played 4 quarters of good basketball and look to keep the intensity up to finish out the month. Freshman Jacob Lindsey led the scorers with 20 points. Adding to the charge were Joseph Lucas (12 points), Max Pashley (11 points), Mike Lewis (5 points), Jack Manning (5 points), and Harrison Buchan (4 points).

The Falcons were back at home Wednesday after a huge win Tuesday night. The Falcons would match up against the Fayetteville Christian Warriors for the annual Silent Night game. The Falcons came out with a cold start allowing the Warriors to hit open shots early in the first quarter. As the Falcons picked up their defensive efforts, scoring opportunities on the offensive side resulted. When the Falcons hit their 5th point and the crowd erupted, they seemed to change gears and put pressure on the Warriors. Into the second half, the Warriors played competitively, and the Falcons fell short of victory. Freshman Mike Lewis led in scoring with 9 points. Assisting in the scoring were Jacob Lindsey (5 points), Harrison Buchan (3 points), and Max Pashley (1 point).
O'Neal vs Village Christian Women 74 – 8 Men 63 – 16, W
The O'Neal Swim team pulled a big win yesterday against Village Christian Vikings. As the team settles into midseason, swim meets test to see where athletes stand in their training. Personal best times are good to grab but not expected as the athletes rev up endurance. The Falcons will now work on building speed as they set their minds to training over winter break. The next swim meet will be in the new year. The Middle School team had several personal records at the meet including Ava Bozovich in the 100 Breaststroke, Tanner Kennedy, Eli Williams, and Sawyer Cartwright in the 50 Free, Adam Storr, Tanner Kennedy, and Eli Williams in the 100 Free, Alessandro Vecchiettini in the 100 Backstroke.
O'Neal vs Village Christian Women 74 – 8 Men 63 – 16, W
The Varsity Falcons had another victory last night for the Women's and Men's Swim Team.
The Lady Falcons won every event with a season-best 200 Free Relay. Stand-out swims from the distance crew of Morgan Lewis and Malia Stone in the 200 Free and 500 Freestyle and Ava Taylor Walker in the 50 and 100 Free. The following swimmers made State qualifying times: Jordin Reed in the 50 and 100 Free. Abigail Schupp in the 100 Free, Michaela Stone in the 100 Backstroke, and Bethany Risseeuw in the 100 Fly.
The Boys team dominated as well, winning most events and posting solid season-best swims. Leo Van Etten made a State qualifying time in the 200 IM. Stand-out swims from Harrison O’Connor in the 100 Free and Sam Schmitz in the 500 Free. The Falcons now focus on staying in swim shape during the last week of practice before break and maintaining fitness while resting and enjoying the holiday break.
