Audiences will journey "under the sea" with Ariel, played by Natalie Browning, as she longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. Alongside her are beloved characters like Prince Eric (Aiden Wilcox), Ursula the Sea Witch (Caitlyn Blocklinger), and Sebastian the crab (Kennedy Aytes), brought to life by O’Neal’s talented middle and upper school students.
“This show is an incredible collaboration between all divisions of the school,” said Music Director Mr. David Lussier. “The cast, crew, and creative teams have worked tirelessly to bring this magical world to the stage. It's a joyful celebration of music, movement, and the power of finding your voice.”
In addition to the performances, families are invited to a Character Brunch on Sunday, March 23 at 12:30 p.m., just before the final show. Catered by Spoon Lickers, the brunch offers children and families the opportunity to meet the cast, collect autographs, and take photos with their favorite characters. Seats are limited, so purchase tickets early.
“I’ve always loved Ariel’s curiosity and courage,” shared lead actress Natalie Browning (Ariel). “Getting to play her has pushed me to grow not just as a performer, but as a person.”
Caitlyn Blocklinger, who stars as the iconic villain Ursula, added, “Playing a character that’s so different from me has been a fun challenge. The energy in the room during rehearsals is electric!”
Ms. Joni Warner, production coordinator, shared, “This production is a true labor of love. From the elaborate costumes to the imaginative choreography and scenic design, it’s been inspiring to watch our students step into these roles and shine. The Little Mermaid is about transformation and courage—and our cast truly embodies that spirit.”
Part of the more than 60-member production cast includes the O’Nealers, the lower school choral group, contributing to a full ensemble of sailors, chefs, maids, gulls, sea creatures, Mersisters, and royal characters. This production highlights the dedication and creativity of O’Neal’s students, faculty, and production team, supported by a talented crew of designers, choreographers, and technical staff.
