Sager Named O'Neal Head of Middle School

The O'Neal School is proud to announce Elizabeth Sager as Head of Middle School. This comes after the School’s extensive search and interview process for the middle school head position following seven months of Sager serving as interim head of middle school. Mrs. Sager, who joined O'Neal in 2020 as a learning specialist and became the student support department chair in 2021, has been a key contributor to the school community and its students' success.

In announcing the appointment, Head of School Dr. Dale McInnis stated, “I am happy to announce that Interim Head of Middle School Elizabeth Sager has accepted the permanent position. Her commitment to O’Neal is exceptional, and I am confident she will provide her students, families, and faculty with strong and effective support and leadership.”

With over 20 years of experience in individualized education, Mrs. Sager has built a career focused on helping students leverage their unique skills to grow academically and personally. This focus is particularly suited to the middle school environment, where her leadership will continue to foster a thriving community for students, faculty, and families.

“Under Mrs. SAGER’s leadership of the Middle School, students and teachers are thriving in an environment of openness and dedication to learning with intentional support,” comments O’Neal Parent Heather Fogle. “She brings a level of fun that helps balance the vigorous standards in the classroom. The smiles and laughter can be seen daily, and we are so thankful she has accepted this critical role.”

Mrs. Sager’s tenure at The O’Neal School has been marked by innovation and dedication. As interim head of middle school, she established a division-wide course schedule, created behavioral guidelines through the Six Pillars program, and implemented a new teacher mentorship initiative. Her background also includes a robust career in education, including roles as an exceptional children specialist and a diagnostician, where she led professional development and compliance initiatives across school districts.

Mrs. Sager holds a Master of Education in special education from the University of Northern Colorado. She is certified in various instructional and leadership programs, including TEACCH Autism Training. Her breadth of expertise reflects her dedication to ensuring that each student reaches their fullest potential.

“Our family has been incredibly fortunate to have had Mrs. Sager as an integral part of our daughter’s educational journey throughout her high school years,” says O’Neal Parent Sonia Bunder. “She has always been there for our daughter, offering guidance, encouragement, and unwavering support, even during the most challenging moments. The O’Neal School is truly lucky to have someone so dedicated, compassionate, and talented in shaping the lives of its students. The promotion of Mrs. Sager to Middle School Head is well deserved, and we are thrilled to see her incredible work being recognized.  We are confident she will deliver exceptional results for years to come.”
