O’Neal Wins National Yearbook Program of Excellence Award

Yearbook publisher, Jostens, has awarded The O’Neal School with the National Yearbook Program of Excellence Award.
A national recognition, there were only two awards given among the 162 schools in the local service area which encompasses schools located as far as the Raleigh/Durham area.

The National Yearbook Program of Excellence Award was created to recognize the schools that excel in the creation and distribution of their yearbook. Such criteria includes creating a book that provides a meaningful value to all students and includes the vast majority of the student body, making the effort to get the yearbook into as many students’ hands as possible and practicing effective project management by meeting specific deadlines.

O’Neal offers a yearbook class in the Upper School and is advised by Upper School English Teacher, Academic Enrichment Center Coordinator and Varsity Girls’ Basketball Coach Lulu Brase. “It is a huge honor to receive this award,” says Ms. Brase. “I’m very proud of all the hard work my students put in to make such a fabulous book!"  This year’s yearbook class students are: Editor-in-Chief Avery Schaefer, Lara Allen, Rebecca Wooddell, Amanda Salloum, Jill Rodgers, and Dylan Andrews.  O’Neal’s yearbook is titled “The Talon”.
