Lunch with a Hero Program Kicks Off with Southern Pines Police

On Tuesday, February 4th, Officer Berry and Detective Lowry visited the lower school students for lunch as the inaugural "Lunch with a Hero" visit. Each of them chatted with students and answered all kinds of questions. Everyone enjoyed having our special visitors on campus.
Initially, the program will welcome officers from the Southern Pines Police Department, Pinehurst Police Department, and the Moore County Sheriff’s Department, with potential expansion to include other local law enforcement agencies, as well as fire and EMS personnel.

The goal of Lunch with a Hero is to create an opportunity for students to engage with law enforcement and other emergency workers in a friendly, casual setting. Through these interactions, students can gain insight into the profession, ask questions, and develop a greater sense of trust and respect for those who work to keep our community safe. The program will also allow O’Neal to express gratitude for the dedication and service of these professionals.

Our Director of Safety and Security Mike Tew is spearheading this initiative. Our first guests will be on Tuesday, February 4th where officers from the Southern Pines Police Department will join students in the Lower School for lunch.
