Lambie's Meadow

“This is beautiful!”, “Does cement come off hands?”, “I love it here.”, “My mom’s going to have to wash my shoes this weekend.”, “I’m going to stay here forever!” These are some of many expressions heard by the fourth grade as they were called in to help lay rocks for the stream bed in Lambie’s Garden.

Lambie’s Garden is an interactive outdoor classroom currently being built between McMurray Lower School and the tennis courts. A gift made to the School from the estate of Mrs. Loyd Cutler has allowed this project to be possible. Mrs. Cutler was called “Lambie” by her grandchildren.

Mrs. Cutler was an O’Neal grandmother and past member of the School’s Board of Trustees. Her generosity for the School extends many years of support by way of gifts and educational programs.

Soon there will be a bridge built over the stream. Cement pads have also been poured for gazebos with mosquito netting for classes as well as a possible stage area. There will also be a slide, and a wildflower bed in addition to other areas for outdoor learning and play.

Konni's Courtyard

Konni's Courtyard is named in honor of Konni McMurray as a former parent, trustee, and consistent major donor to the school.
